William Stacey "Bill" Yarbrough
Tupelo – William Stacey “Bill” Yarbrough passed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 91. Bill was born September 28, 1934, to Mildred Rail Parker and Henry Quay Yarbrough of Belden, Mississippi. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1952. He later attended and graduated from Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi receiving bachelor and masters’ degrees. His career was spent primarily at the North Mississippi Medical Center as the business manager. As a proud veteran, he served in the Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served on the USS Bon Homme Richard and the USS Telfair.
His passions included being a faithful member of First Baptist Church Tupelo and Belden Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He enjoyed being a Charter Member of the Tupelo Exchange Club and past president of the Lion’s Club of Tupelo. Upon retirement he enjoyed volunteer work in the North Mississippi Medical Center Auxiliary for many years. World travel and collecting antiques, especially Civil War relics, were his favorite past times.
Bill is survived by his children, William Andrew Yarbrough (Peggy) of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Martin Landers “Buck” Yarbrough (Gena) of Saltillo, Terri Regina Stanford (John) of Ripley, and Kimberley Hope Hardy (Jeff) of Branson, Missouri; grandchildren, Andrew Yarbrough, Austin Yarbrough, Elizabeth Yarbrough, Houston Yarbrough, Chelsea Wildmon, Stephen Stanford, Taylor Stanford, Adam Stanford, Joshua Hardy, and Jacob Hardy; brother, David Yarbrough (Pam); and he was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Yarbrough; parents, Mildred and Quay; and brother, Douglas Yarbrough.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belden Baptist Church, Tupelo Lions Club, My Choices of Ripley, American Family Association, or a charity of your choice.
