William J. Kordik
TUPELO - William J. "Bill" Kordik, 75, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A Chicago native, he was born Oct. 25, 1930, to the late Joseph and Eleanor Regan Kordik. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, a special minister, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and on the board of Shepherd Center. He was the production control manager in his earlier years at Appleton Electric for 40 years and Day Brite for 15 years before retiring. Mr. Kordik was a volunteer Ambassador at the North Mississippi Medical Center, an active blood donor (five gallons), an avid reader, and enjoyed playing with his grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Claire Heiberger Kordik of Tupelo; one daughter, Joanne Sisk and husband, Ty, of Mooreville; one brother, John Kordik of Centerville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Zachary William Sisk and Joshua Trey Sisk, both of Mooreville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Kordik; and the mother of his daughter, Carol Ann Kordik.
Pallbearers will be Gene Ingram, Rocco Pizza, Craig Nystrom, Dr. Edward Ivancic, Marcel Crudele and Ken Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at St. James Catholic Church with Father Gus Langenkamp officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 199, Tupelo, MS 38802 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
