William “Bill” Cullin

Tupelo- William “Bill” Cullin, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born on July 29, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, to Byron Randall Cullin and Blanche Evelyn Delano Cullin.

He was baptized on April 16, 1933, a meaningful moment early in a life shaped by faith.

Bill spent his early years in Detroit and the surrounding communities.

Bill honorably served his country in the Army Security Agency and Signal Corps from November 15, 1951, until his honorable discharge on November 17, 1954. While stationed in Germany, Bill met the love of his life, Ursula, and they were married on June 15, 1954.

He later pursued further training at the Detroit Institute of Technology, working full time and attending night school from 1955 to 1958 and earning certification as an Electronic Engineering Technician.

Bill built a long and accomplished career with Great Lakes Steel, Sheller Globe and Foamex. He retired in 1999 as a Corporate Manager, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, skill, and dedication.

Bill’s work and family life led him to live in several communities in Minnesota and Iowa before settling in Tupelo in August of 1973. It was there that he made his permanent home.

Faith remained an important foundation throughout Bill’s life. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Tupelo since 1974, where he considered it an honor and blessing to serve. He was an elder and led youth groups for several years.

Bill lived an active and full life. He enjoyed gardening, photography, home improvement projects, tennis, softball, swimming, and golf. Known for his great sense of humor and classic dad jokes, Bill brought laughter to those around him. Golf was his greatest passion. He proudly achieved nine hole-in-ones and played daily well into his nineties. He golfed so regularly that his phone believed the course was his workplace, and he continued golfing until at least the age of 92.

“Mr. Bill” will be remembered for his deep and abiding faith, kindness, generosity, and willingness to share his time with anyone lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his brother, George Francis Cullin (Patricia) of Key Largo, Florida; sister, Donna Louise Snider (B.J.) of Knoxville, Tennessee; children, Randall Stuart Cullin (Nina) of Iowa City, Iowa, Donna Jean Cullin of Saltillo, Katherine Elizabeth Meyer of Saltillo, Kristina Lee Wilmoth of Saltillo, and Michael Patrick Cullin of Tupelo; grandchildren, Christopher William Cullin (Meagan) of Tupelo, Joseph Albert Lee-Cullin (Jei) of Albion, Michigan, Courtney Michelle Mears of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Brandon Joseph Wilmoth (Jasmine) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Curtis William Condon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Alex Manuel Barrientos, Hector Miguel Barrientos, Lauren McKinley Cullin, Connor Mathew Wilmoth, Manuel Amado Villanueva, Lucas Aaron Wilmoth, Calvin Lee Condon, and Allison Wilmoth.
