Alton Wayne Pinkerton

Saltillo – Wayne Pinkerton, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on September 18, 1937, to Pleasant Knox Pinkerton and Thelma Pauline Pinkerton, Wayne lived a life marked by devotion, service, and love.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Wayne served his country with honor and integrity. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his military service—he earned a Master’s Degree in Business and Analytical Chemistry, reflecting his sharp intellect and lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

Wayne met the love of his life, Christel Pinkerton, in 1983. Their bond grew strong, and they were united in marriage in 1990. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, faith, and enduring companionship. Wayne was a God-fearing man whose faith guided his actions and inspired those around him.

He was cherished deeply by his wife, family, and friends, all of whom will remember his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and the wisdom he shared so freely.

Wayne’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to love, service, and faith.

He is survived by his wife, Christel Pinkerton; his two sons, Mike Pinkerton of Guntown, and Brad Pinkerton of Florida; four grandchildren, Justin Pinkerton and wife, Heidi, of Loganville, GA, Ashley Hamilton and husband, David, of Knoxville, TN, Courtney Pinkerton of California, and Ashton Collins and husband, Joe, of Hickory Flat, MS; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Grant, Owen, Wyatt, Rhagen, and Harper; and two sisters, Peggy Treglia of Florida, and Faye Stocks and husband, Richard, of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bill Pinkerton.

Wayne’s family will have a private family service at a later date. Pegues Funeral Directors are entrusted with the care of his arrangements.
