Vonda Maynard

Tupelo - Vonda Maynard, 85, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026. She was born March 16, 1941, in Mississippi to Elvie and Vivian Hester.

Vonda married the love of her life, Billy Maynard, and they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2019. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a longtime member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi. Vonda loved being involved with her church and especially enjoyed spending time with the friends and fellow Sunday school class members who meant so much to her.

Vonda was also a longtime business owner in Tupelo, where she loved owning and operating her retail business for many years. She took great pride in her work and the people she met along the way.

Vonda was preceded in death by her parents, Elvie and Vivian Hester; and her beloved husband, Billy Maynard.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla Rea and her husband, Rickey Rea.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues, Tupelo.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Chris O’Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
