Theresa Brewer

Theresa Ann “Tessie” Brewer passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at her home in Guntown after an extended illness. She was 72 years old. Born February 8, 1953 in Cleveland, Tessie was the daughter of Mary Helen Brown Loftin. She was raised in Greenville where she resided until her health began to decline. At that time, she moved to Lee County to be near her daughter. Tessie was an avid reader and loved getting lost in a good storyline. She had a soft spot for cats and kittens, often taking in strays to give them a good home. Tessie also enjoyed a good shopping trip and finding a great bargain.

Tessie leaves behind two children, Kathey Renault and her husband, Marcel, of Guntown and Cody Michael Brewer of Bay St. Louis; her mother, Helen Loftin; ten grandchildren including Cody and Dylan Blakeley; siblings, Tammey Penton and her husband, Donnie, of Bogalosa, Louisiana and Randy McGovern of Conway, Arkansas; and a special brother-in-law who was always there when Tessie needed support, Mitchell Stevens of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis “Bubba” McGovern and a sister, Cindy Stevens.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
