Blue Springs

Mr. Terry Pannell

Blue Springs—Terry Clise Pannell, 74, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Born on December 3, 1949, in Tupelo, to C. C. Pannell and Juanita Vanlandingham Pannell, Terry was a graduate of Tupelo High School.
After taking over the reins of the family business, Clearview Television (CTV), Terry distinguished himself as a pioneer in the satellite industry. He built the first satellite in the southeast United States to offer access to premium channels.

While his professional achievements were remarkable, Terry never lost sight of what truly mattered – his faith and family. A man of faith and community, Terry was a founding member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. Terry was a devoted husband and father, actively participating in the pursuits of his children, from school activities to showing horses.

After an illustrious career spanning over fifty years, Terry retired from Clearview Television (CTV). With retirement came new opportunities for Terry to explore his other interests. Golf, a sport he had always enjoyed, became an even greater passion during this chapter of his life. He embraced the fairways and greens enthusiastically. He also found great enjoyment in hunting deer and quail with his best friend, Joe Hilhouse, and his favorite dog, Bill.

Terry leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Barbara Pannell of Blue Springs; four children, Sandy Landreth and her husband, Linwood, of Tupelo, Chris Pannell and his wife, Kim, of Ocean Springs, Heather Palmer and her husband, Trevor, of Saltillo, and Amanda Robinson and her husband, Mike, of Saltillo; twelve grandchildren, Larkin Landreth, Jennifer Duke (David), Caitlyn Pannell, Christian Pannell, Gracelyn Pannell, Kyle Palmer, Will Palmer (Kasey), Meg Zuniga (Edgar), Worth Robinson, Harley Robinson, Lilly Robinson, and Jasper Robinson; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lisa Lofton and her husband, Jim, of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents including his beloved grandmother, Maude Vanlandingham.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Pegues, Saltillo.
