Sheila Clayton

Mooreville- Sheila Gail Clayton, 66, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Pontotoc Health and Rehab. Born on June 29, 1959, to William Marion Clayton and Bonnie Faye Russell Clayton, Sheila lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and a gentle spirit. She was a faithful member of Allen's Chapel United Methodist Church, where her steady faith was an important part of her life. Sheila will be remembered for her sweet nature, thoughtful heart, and the warmth she shared with those who knew her.

Sheila found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, crocheting, and spending time with her beloved cat, Ollie, and dog, Teddy. She also enjoyed mowing the yard and took pride in caring for her home. Known for being exceptionally smart, Sheila had a remarkable memory for people, stories, and the past, often recalling details that others had long forgotten.

Sheila is survived by her two sisters, Lynn Clayton (Wesley Rinehart), and Lorrie Chunn (Dale); brother, Ken Clayton (Kay); niece, Karly Spires (Jimmy); nephews, Kody Clayton (Christy), Chris Chunn, Kaleb Chunn; and great-niece, Kaylee Clayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Bonnie Clayton.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Gilvo Cemetery.
