Sam Cox
Tupelo - Sam Cox, 3-year-old son of David Thomas and Samantha Pittman Cox of Tupelo, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. A Tupelo native, he was born Aug. 14, 2002. Along with his family, he attended West Main Church of Christ. He loved all super heroes, especially Batman and Spiderman.
Private graveside services will be Sunday at the Priceville Cemetery with Minister Charles Tharp officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, John David Cox and Nathan Cox of the home; his grandparents, John and Sherry Pittman of Tupelo; his great-grandmother, Zilpha Merchent of Tupelo; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean Cox King and Joe Cox.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Pittman, Justin Pittman, Joey Cox and Danny Cox.
Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home on Jefferson Street.
