RUBY KATHERINE (MIMIE) LOFTON, 80, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Graceland Care Center New Albany after a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1928 in Lee County to the late Wesley Earl and Nancy Emaline Wages Hutcheson. In 1946, she married Willie Lofton who preceded her in death October 2, 1993. She was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Blue Springs in the Jugfork Community in Union County. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting, playing bingo, fishing and camping. One of her favorite places to camp was Coleman State Park. She loved gardening and especially loved her roses.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Felix Hutcheson officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in the Jugfork Community.

Survivors include her four children; Kenneth Lofton and his wife, Edith, of Blue Springs, Jerry Lofton and his wife, Janie, of Tupelo, Sue Adams and her husband, James, of Newport, Tennessee and Judy Bishop and her husband, Mickey, of Blue Springs; ten grandchildren; eleven great-granchildren; four sisters, Keron Gattis of Fulton, Virginia Kennedy of Ecru, Evelyn Clark and her husband, Bobby, of Plantersville and Helen Hankins and her husband, Bud, of Tupelo; one brother; James Hutcheson of Plantersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Emily, three brothers, and one grandchild, Cecily Jean Lofton.

Pallbearers will be Eric Thomas, Terry Lofton, Jason Bishop, Paul Clark, Gene Dill and Randy Lofton.

Visitation will continue from 11:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
