ACKERMAN - Ruby Jean Johnson, 54, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was a native of Greenville and a longtime resident of Ackerman. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Ackerman. She loved cooking and sewing for her family, gardening, her flowers and family get-togethers.
Survivors include one son, Terry M. Bowie Jr. of Ackerman; two sisters, Janet Power of Ashland and Nancy Bright of Weir; three brothers, George Russell James Jr. and Virgin Allen James, both of Maben, and Norman Thomas James of Canton; 13 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held later. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of local arrangements.
