Tupelo- Ruble Linzy Green, 84, a native and lifetime resident of North Mississippi, died Friday, November 19, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a short illness. He was born January 6, 1932, in Itawamba County the only child of Dorsey Dillon Green and Blanche Christian Green. He played football at Itawamba High School for 3 years where he was a member of the 1950 graduating class. Ruble married the love of his life Bonnie Duncan in 1953, and together they shared 63 years of marriage. He worked over 55 years for J.J. Rodgers Wholesale, first in inventory stocking before moving into sales. Nature and wildlife were always a passion for Ruble as he built and maintained feeders for all the many types of wildlife in his backyard. His other hobbies included collecting pocket knives, playing dominos and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels. Ruble loved his Church, St. Mark United Methodist where he had been a faithful member for 54 years. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Duncan Green of Tupelo; two daughters Tami Nabers (Donald) of Houston School Community in Itawamba County and Kristi Dulaney (Walker McEwen) of Saltillo; two grandchildren Shane Scott (Brianna) of Boonville and Josh Scott of Chico, California. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services honoring his life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Don McCain and Rev. Danny Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Josh Scott, Shane Scott, Ricky Roberts, Thomas Christian, Eddie Thompson, Cliff Weeks and Bobby Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be former employees of J.J. Rodgers, Frank and Ann Wade, Art and Jarrie Smith and Harrison and Karey UpShaw.
