RUBAL DAVIS

Mantachie - Rubal Davis, 83, died Monday morning, September 12, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A North Mississippi native, he was born March 13, 1922 to the late Oscar C. and Annie Mae Collier Davis. He was raised in Tupelo and had served in the U. S. Army. He was a welder and earlier in his life had worked a number of years with Ingall's Shipyard in Pascagoula. He retired with Jesco. He was an active member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church. He was a York Rite Mason, a Shriner, a Gideon, and an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Satlillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Gerald Gann officiating. Entombment will be in Lee memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Geneva Dickerson Davis of Mantachie; one daughter, Sue Davis Stokes of Tupelo; two sons, Marty Davis and his wife, Carolyn, of Pontotoc, Gayle Davis and his wife, Kathy, of Tupelo; three step-daughters, Jean Ricker and her husband, Tommy, of Spring, Texas, Arlene Cates and her husband, Archie, of Mantachie, Vicki Whitt and her husband, Mike, of Memphis; three step-sons, Tony Dickerson and his wife, Debbie, of Mantachie, Tommy Dickerson and his wife, Sherry, of Caldwell, Texas, Jimmy Dickerson and his wife, Sherry, of Ripley; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great grandchildren.

The mother of his children, Jackie Davis Williams, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be Neal Gregory, Neal Ellis, Tim Dickerson, Jeff Dickerson, Danny Davis, Roger Davis, Randy Davis, and Shane Dickerson.
