Shannon - Rebecca Catherine Pettey Wilson, 87, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at her sons residence in Michie, Tenn. after a lengthy illness. She was born July 12, 1923 in Lee County to W. R. Willie Bob and Eula Melvinia Allen Pettey. She was a high school graduate of Shannon High School. She and her husband, Orville Wilson co-owned Tupelo Upholstery and Wilsons Upholstery and Antiques. She loved her flowers, listening to Gospel music and loved watching Wheel-of-Fortune. She lived in Old Union Community, west of Shannon until her health failed her.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Richard Doyle officiating. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy "Jim" Wilson (Jane) of Michie, Tennessee, Robert "Bobby Wayne" Wilson (Pat) of Brewer and Randal "Randy" Wilson (Tammie) of Tupelo; six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville Wilson; three brothers, Robert Allen Pettey, Clyde Pettey and Cary Pettey.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Crownover, Danny Smith, Sam Atkins, Homan McFarlign, Andy Brazeal, Wesley Wilson, Paul Schulz and Will Vaughan.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
