Sarepta and Tupelo – Rachel Nolan, a beloved and joyful soul, passed away at the age of 72 on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Greenhouses of Traceway in Tupelo. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a heart full of cherished memories. She was a woman whose joy touched the lives of all who knew her. She was born October 26, 1953, to the late Emmet W and Lois Nolan.
Rachel lived a life full of passion for the things that brought her happiness. She had a love for collecting purses, each one telling its own story, much like the many chapters of her own life. Whether it was watching her favorite "Stories" on television, enjoying the simple joy of purses, pads, and pennies, or attending Gospel Singings with friends and family, Rachel found beauty in the small things and shared that joy with everyone around her.
Music was another great love of hers—she knew every song in the Broadman Hymnal by heart and loved to sing the familiar hymns that filled her soul with peace. Her faith was evident in the way she lived her life.
She is survived by three nieces, Deanna Harrington (Russ), Tara Nolan, and Andi Nolan; three nephews, Brad Nolan (Gena), Dennis Nolan (Melissa), and Kevin Nolan (Selena); two sisters-in-law, Judy Nolan (Billy Daniel), and Elen Todd; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Benny Nolan and Jerry Nolan.
Services honoring the life of Rachel Nolan will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Tim McMillen officiating. Burial will follow at Bruce Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, December 26, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
The family would like to give a special thanks and recognition to the staff at Rosedale Assisted Living in Fulton and to the staff at the Franks House of Traceway.
Her great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The Shine Foundation at 123 Drive 1345, Mooreville, MS 38857.
