Peggy Stults

Saltillo- Peggy Irene Stults, age 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Sanctuary Hospice House, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was born on January 14, 1946, to William Francis Phillips and Ruby Gertrude Cockrell Phillips.

Peggy lived a life marked by simplicity, grace, and quiet strength. She was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home. Though she considered herself a plain and simple lady, those who knew her understood that her life reflected a deep appreciation for natural beauty and the everyday blessings that make life meaningful.

Peggy was a faithful member of Priceville Baptist Church and cherished her time with the Golden Circle Sunday School Class, where she formed lasting friendships and continued to grow in her faith. Her church family was a treasured part of her life.

She was known for her caring heart, loyal spirit, and gentle nature. Peggy found her greatest joy in cooking for others, expressing her love through the meals she thoughtfully prepared. Nothing made her happier than gathering her family around the table, where laughter was shared, stories were told, and memories were made. To sit at Peggy’s table was to feel truly loved.

In her quiet moments, she enjoyed thrifting, reading, and searching for special antiques and treasured knick-knacks, each one carefully chosen and filled with character: much like Peggy herself. She had a gift for seeing value and beauty in the simple and overlooked things in life.

Peggy will be deeply loved, dearly missed, and forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love will continue to shine through the family she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.

She is survived by her son, Jason Stults, and wife, Tammy; five grandchildren, Jace Stults, Jonah Stults, Rhett Stults, Brittany Koundry, and Nikki Stults; six great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Ayla, Liam, Logan, Gracie, and Kayden; siblings, James Phillips, Frances Cresap and her husband, Jimmy, and Sarah Flanagan; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Quay Stults; parents, William and Ruby Phillips; son, Kevin Stults; and sisters, Lucille Clayton and Dorothy Easterling.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring the life of Mrs. Stults will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Tim McMillan and Bro. Judd Vowell officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery.
