Houston-- Patsy Ruth Chesteen, 74, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born November 29, 1950, in Trumann, Arkansas, Patsy was the beloved daughter of George Grimes and Elizabeth Fortner Grimes.
Patsy was a devoted wife and homemaker who took pride in caring for her family. Patsy loved thrift store shopping and yard sales, always on the lookout for the next purse to add to her extensive collection. In earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting and sitting outside on her glider. She always loved visiting with her children and grandchildren as much as she could.
Patsy leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Dannie Clay Chesteen; four children, Farrell Reese Hall, Jr. and his wife, Sonya, of Okolona, Brenda Huey and her husband, Pete, of Tupelo, Jimmy Hall and his wife, Debra, of Houston, and Jerry Hall of Winston County; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren and one expected in February (Karson Wheeler).
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Melissa Galloway; and one brother, Tommy Fortner.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services honoring Patsy’s life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Warren Cemetery in Hurricane.
