Tupelo - Pansy Boozer, 87, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native, she was born May 28, 1923 to Willie Clark and Betty Marie Stovall Allen. She was a1942 graduate of Plantersville High School and married her husband, Thomas Hursel Boozer later that year. She served as the Lee County Farm Bureau Women's Chairman and loved reading her Bible, sewing, and gardening. She had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on friends and family. She was the oldest member of Unity Presbyterian Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. B.F. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, east of Plantersville.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rushing (Willie) of Fulton and Sherry Carter (Joe) of Plantersville; one son, Randy Boozer (Mary Jo) of Talledaga, Ala.; five grandchildren, Richard Rushing (Michelle) of Iuka, Traci Campbell (Brad) of Starkville, Brandi Lindsey (Tommy) of Pontotoc, John Hodges of Tampa, Fla., and Jonathan Boozer (Brittany) of Talledaga, Ala.; four step-grandchildren, Tim Carter, Paula Hall, Dewaine Smith and Cordelia Pope; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Thomas Hursel Boozer; her son, Don Allen Boozer, who was killed in Vietnam, March 5, 1968; and her sister, Rita Reedy.
Pallbearers will be F.B. Boozer, Robert Boozer, Emmitt Boozer, Grady Boozer, Bobby Reedy, and Mac Reedy.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
