NANCY LAVELL MARKHAM
Old Union Community - Nancy Lavell Markham, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born September 6, 1929 to Steve and Ruby Harlow Causey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting in her earlier years. She was a Baptist by faith. Nancy enjoyed gardening, crocheting, word-find puzzles and spending time with her family and her dog, Benji.
Survivors include her son, Walter "Shorty" Markham (Sharon); daughter, Nell Taylor (Dennis); grandchildren, Mark Taylor and Morgan Taylor all of the Old Union Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter "Junior" Markham; one sister, six brothers, one half-sister and one half-brother.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating and visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Taylor, Mark Taylor, Cody Wray, Thomas Warren, Kenith Williams and Tony Carr.
