Marvin W. Duffie

Saltillo- Marvin Wayne Duffie, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born on May 4, 1943, to the late Ed Duffie and Essie Pickle Duffie.

Marvin was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for fishing and could often be found enjoying the peace and quiet of the water. He also took great pride in his gardening, nurturing both plants and the people around him with care and patience. A dedicated truck driver for many years, Marvin was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.

At home, Marvin truly shined in the kitchen. He loved cooking and took great pride in preparing meals for those he loved, something he did often and with joy. He also enjoyed grocery shopping, especially trips to Kroger, where he made an art out of couponing and finding the best deals.

Marvin was a faithful member of the Church of God, and his life reflected his steady and kind-hearted spirit. He was known by all who met him as happy-go-lucky, easygoing, and hardworking, a man who never met a stranger and always had a warm presence.

Above all, Marvin cherished his family. Spending time with loved ones brought him his greatest happiness. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Brandy, who meant the world to him and was a constant source of companionship and comfort.

Marvin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

He is survived by his children, Sherry Hardin, Michael Duffie, and Glen Posey (Teri); grandchildren, Kristie Thompson, Matthew Thompson (Summer), Justin Posey (Hannah), Jordan Posey, Liberty Burcham (Eddy), and Caleb Duffie; great-grandchildren, Mark Thompson, Jake Jones, Dustin Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Blaylin Oliver, Matalyn Thompson, Neeko Posey, Grayson Posey, and Olivia Burcham; great-great-grandchildren, Presley Thompson and Layton Jones; siblings, Hoyle Duffie, Charles Duffie, Will Duffie, and Mary Ruth Irwin; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Duffie; parents, Ed and Essie Duffie; and brother, Buck Duffie.
