Saltillo - Lee Swindle, 79, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born March 30, 1931 in North Mississippi. He was retired as a long-time auto mechanic and had worked at Firestone in Tupelo. He had also served for six years as Chief of Police in Elaine, Arkansas. He was a Baptist. He loved his family.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Horace Barnes and Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Louise Harris Swindle of Saltillo; three daughters, Wanda Harris and Shelia Mays, both of Belmont and Cindy Fickett of Sturgis Bay, Wisconsin; five sons, Freddie Swindle on North Carolina, Roy Swindle of Fulton, Edward Swindle of Red Bay, Alabama, Phillip Swindle of Fulton and Chris Swindle of Mantachie; one sister, Eloise Snowden of Elaine, Arkansas; one brother, Jackie Swindle of Elaine Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Harold Vinson, Gary Vinson, Tim Pounders, Jeremy Pounders, Kenneth Harris and Mickey Towery.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
