Larry Wayne Young
Plantersville- Larry Wayne Young, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 11, 1949, to Dave Young and Marie Johnston Young.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant during his service from 1969 to 1971. After returning home, he built a strong work ethic and a career he was proud of. He worked for Tecumseh as a shipping supervisor for many years before retiring in 2005.
On June 16, 1967, Larry married the love of his life, Shirley Diane Wilson. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and memories that spanned decades.
In his younger years, Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and racing, pursuits that reflected his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. As the years passed, he found joy in simpler but deeply meaningful moments: working outdoors, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and enjoying the companionship of his beloved dog, Red.
Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his country, and his work, as well as for the quiet moments he cherished most with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
