TUPELO - Katie Jane Fielder, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at the Green Houses at Traceway Retirement Community. She was a graduate of Nursing School in Greenwood and served as head nurse at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson for more than 30 years. She retired to the Traceway Retirement Community in 1996.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell Center Chapel at Traceway with the Rev. Terri Armstrong officiating. A graveside service followed at Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one brother, Burle Fielder; one half-brother, James Wilson; two nieces, Mary Jane Norman and Louise Hoard; a great-nephew, Robert Norman; and her godchildren, Annabeth McKay, Susan Winkler, Elizabeth McKay, Marion Winkler III and Hayden Winkler.
