Listen to Obituary

Tupelo – Karen A. Alexander, a person committed to her faith, was born in Santa Clara, CA on April 13, 1959. She passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice House at the age of 66 surrounded by her family. Karen lived her life always more concerned about giving to others what was special to them than with her own needs.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Glen F. Alexander and Annie Beckham Alexander. Karen is survived by her siblings, Steve Alexander (Libby) of Tupelo, MS, George Alexander (Niki) of Gulfport, MS, Glenda Alexander Kleppinger (Ed) of Liberty, MO, Becky Alexander Strathdee (Tim) of Springfield, MO, Randy Alexander (Sharon) of Tupelo, MS, Sheri Alexander Goodman (Merrill) of Ocklawaha, FL, and Teri Alexander Vigil (Isaac) of Ocala, FL. She also leaves behind a large, loving family of nieces and nephews who brought great joy to her life and whom she cherished deeply.

Karen graduated from high school in Clinton, North Carolina, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible from Central Bible College Springfield MO. She later received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield MO—an achievement that reflected both her faith and her commitment to lifelong learning.

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina displaced Karen from her home in New Orleans where she had served as Vice Principal at Victory Church Christian School. She returned to Tupelo, MS, where she continued to serve others through substitute teaching, and working for Kohl’s and K&K Systems. A woman of strength and faith, Karen was active in Eight Days of Hope, volunteering to help others rebuild and recover—just as she had done in her own life.

Karen valued her spiritual family at King’s Gate Worship Center, formerly Good News Church. Her faith was evident not only in words but in her actions—through her willingness to serve, to listen, and to give generously. Karen was in charge of hospitality, hosting many church dinners and celebrations for birthdays and anniversaries.

Karen’s legacy is one of an unwavering commitment to making others feel seen, valued, and loved. She had a ministry touching lives through cards that she had thoughtfully picked out for the individual. They could be funny or serious and always had an effect on the receiver.

Karen was a caregiver. She cared for both parents as they ailed in later years. She will be deeply missed by her family, her church, her friends, and all whose lives she profoundly touched.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, October 25, 2025, at King’s Gate Worship Center in Tupelo, MS.

Memorial services honoring the life of Ms. Karen will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at King’s Gate Worship Center with Rev. Edwin Kleppinger officiating and Rev. James “Arch” Archambeault, Spring Valley Hospice Chaplin, as honorary officiant. Graveside services will follow at Priceville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen’s memory to Eight Days of Hope Rapid Response Ministry or King’s Gate Worship Center.
