Judy May York

Booneville- Judy May York, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born in Tupelo, to Jean and Edgar Philpot on September 14, 1949.

Judy had a bright light that drew others to her. She met life with strength, endured hardships with resilience, and embraced others with quiet acceptance. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit made others feel welcome and valued.

She lived for her family and friends. She was a constant presence in the lives of her family, especially her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to be there for them. Whether it was a game, grocery run, or special moment, she showed up, always cheering from the sidelines, offering encouragement, and sharing in their joy. She had a deep love for sports, enjoying both the excitement of the game and the way it brought people together. She never missed a chance to sit in the front row at her kids’ games, often cheering louder than anyone else in the crowd. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family, friends, and church family. Being together, laughing, talking, making memories and our Jesus, was what mattered most to her.

Judy leaves behind her husband, Roy York; children, Scott May and Luke May and wife Marlee; stepchildren, Josh York and Nicole Mullins and husband Fred; grandchildren, Neil, Bo, Preslee, Baylor, Romee Todd, and John Ryan; sister, Tonya Rogers and husband Jamie of Plantersville; and a slew of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Edgar Philpot; husband of 39 years, Tommy May; son, Todd May; and brother, Eddie Philpot.
