Joyce Boyd Livingston, age 97, of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in her home on April 17, 2025. She was born April 5, 1928 in Ecru, Mississippi, to Willis and Gladys Mounce. She was a graduate of Ecru High School and the University of Mississippi. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Martha Jean Russell; her first husband of 46 years, James Dawayne Boyd; and her second husband of 18 years, Jim Long Livingston. Survivors include her brother Jimmy Mounce (Jennie); her children Joanna Morgan (Tommy), Jeffery Boyd (Nancy), and Jennifer Hotten (Jim); eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother (best known as “Mina”), Joyce always created a warm and happy home. She made those around her feel special and important. Her life was marked by southern grace, devotion to family, and faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In her final days, she was lovingly cared for by devoted sitters Lindy Thompson, Amy Smith, Kathy West, Janie Bates, and Patsy Harris, whose kindness and compassion brought great comfort to her and her family.
Joyce leaves a legacy of fervent and sacrificial love. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
