PontotocJoe Ed Sudduth, 69, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Union County after a lengthy illness. He was born August 5, 1936, in the Furrs community to the late Frank and Nell Malone Sudduth. He was formerly employed as a Tupelo firefighter, a Lee County Deputy Sheriff, a truck driver with Coley Trucking, and was co-owner of City Cab Company. He was a Baptist.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Joe Herndon and Rev. Boyce Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in White Zion Cemetery in Pontotoc County.

Survivors include four children, Mike Sudduth of Maine, Rebecca Sudduth of Greenville, Tex., David Sudduth and wife, Amy, of Snellville, Ga., and Jennifer Nieman and husband, Charles, of Snellville; one sister, Jean Mauldin of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Joyce Siddall and husband, Charles, of Tupelo; eleven grandchildren, Brenda Robertson, Crista Sudduth, and Rene Cain of Greenville, Tx., Alyssa and Jacob Sudduth, Tina and Terry Swiney, all of Snellville; several grandchildren from Maine; two great grandchildren, Lacy Lynn Monk and Kennton Gray II, of Greenville, Tx.; six step-grandchildren, Brandon Garcia and Justin Nieman of Snellville, Jamie, Scott, and Brian Siddall, and Angel Nanney, all of Tupelo; three step-great grandchildren, Andrew and Madison Nanney and Jacob Siddall, all of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Jean Sudduth; one sister, Ellen Wiygul; four brothers, Lavert Sudduth, Billy Sudduth, Roy Sudduth, and Lynn Sudduth; one son, Eddie Frank Sudduth; one daughter, Tina Annette Sudduth; and one great granddaughter, Macy Mae Monk.

Pallbearers will be Charles Nieman, Danny Pattrerson, Jamie Siddall, Timmy Sudduth, Randy Verrell, and Ricky Williams.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
