Tupelo—James Blain “Jimmy” Lamb passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was 73 years old. Jimmy was born September 23, 1949 in Eupora, the son of James Alvin Lamb Jr. and Mary Estelle Blain Lamb. Before becoming disabled, he was a salesman for Mississippi Samples. Jimmy enjoyed spending time outside, always greeting delivery drivers and passers by. He also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, Ole Miss Football, movies, and old westerns. He loved his family and cherished the time they spent together.
Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Frances Lamb of Tupelo; his son, Jason Lamb and wife, Hannah, of Marietta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Amelia and Jonah of Marietta, Georgia; and a sister, Margaret Parson of Natchez.
Services honoring Jimmy’s life will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2023 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Charles Covington officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cotton Plant. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at Pegues, Tupelo.
