Belmont - Jimmie Lee Brooks, 65, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at The Meadows Nursing Home in Fulton after an extended illness. A Lee Co. native, he was born June 4, 1944 to Tildon and Beatrice Brooks. He currently lived in Belmont but was formerly of Plantersville. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. He loved animals, doing yard work, and being outdoors. He was a member of the Baptist church.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Tonya Henley (Gerald) of Belmont; one brother, Johnny Wayne Brooks of Plantersville; two grandchildren, Brandy Collier (Ricky, of Baldwyn, Savannah Roberson (Shannon) of Belmont; four great-grandchildren, Dalton, Shellie, Brandon, and Anslie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
