James Earl Hickman
Saltillo – James Earl Hickman, 58, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born on September 21, 1967, to the late James Grady Hickman and Offie Mae Gray Hickman.
James lived a life rooted in simple joys and genuine connection. He found peace in quiet mornings spent fishing, casting a line and letting the world slow down around him. With patient hands and a keen eye for detail, he took great pride in building model cars, turning small pieces into something complete and meaningful.
He had a playful spirit that never went unnoticed. James loved to joke and tease, always ready with a quick remark that could turn an ordinary moment into laughter. His presence was warm and inviting, and people were naturally drawn to his easygoing nature and kind heart.
He was a loyal friend and a devoted family man who cared deeply for those he loved. His dedication never wavered, and he made sure the people closest to him always felt valued. James also took pride in his work hauling scrap metal, approaching each day with a steady work ethic and a quiet sense of satisfaction.
A faithful attendee of Open Door Worship Center, James carried his faith with him throughout his life. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the way he made others feel at ease. His memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his children, Richard Hickman, Daniel Hickman (fiancé Christan), Emily Hickman, Debra Hickman (fiancé Cody Wilson), and Patricia Hickman (fiancé Jeremy Flannigan); a host of grandchildren; siblings, Judy Hickman, and Devorah Hickman; nephews, Ronnie Miller, and Jimmy Randolph; and nieces, Rebecca Randolph, Katrina Hickman, Shasha Pitts, Tasha Miller, Crystal Randolph, and Rena Randolph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 10 years, Alana Jane Cayson; and brother, Grady Dewayne Hickman.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Monday, March 30, 2026, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring the life of Mr. James Earl will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Shane Ray officiating.
