Irma Jewel Pate
Nettleton- Irma Jewel Pate, age 94, met her Lord and Savior surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Nettleton. She was born on November 11, 1931, to Earl Patterson and Carrie Roebuck Patterson.
Irma led a life of love, care, and beauty. She was such a loving woman, attentive to her garden just as she was to her family. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and loved flowers dearly, her favorite being roses. She married Dallas W. Pate, where they enjoyed life together until his passing in 1998. They were married for 48 years. Although her love of flowers was strong, it did not outweigh her love of life.
Irma lived life to the fullest, continuing to go and do until her passing. She would attend baseball games for the Mississippi Bandits through the years, continuing to attend at her age of 94. She was a spunky lady: there was never a dull moment around her. In her later days, she attended Living Waters Church in Mooreville. She was such a joy to be around, her love will be felt in the hearts of all that knew her.
She is survived by her children, William “W.D.” Pate, Kathy James (Ricky), Roger Pate (Sherie), and Vicki Nanney (Mark); son-in-law, Donald Warren; grandchildren, Scott Pate (Tonya), Shae Koenigsberger (Blake), Eric James (Brandy), Courtney Goff (Brandon), Keith Pate, Braxton Pate (Janie), Cody Pate (Brittany), Dustin Burnett (Stephanie), Tiffany Fay (Austin), Channing Nanney (Kylee), and Peyton Nanney; great-grandchildren, Kole Koenigsberger, Mary Claire James, Cammie James, Rebekah James (Clayton), Sarabeth Goff, Anna Thomas Pate, Jack Pate, Watson Pate, Mary Frances Pate, Will Pate, Addie Kay Pate, Beckett Burnett, Collins Burnett, Brooks Nanney, Georgia Nanney, Baylor Nanney, Emmie Fay, Everly Fay, Ellie Fay, Katie Hester, Justin Hester (Jasmine), Blake Hester (Randi), Brady Hester (Marlie), and Kaitlyn Hatfield (Kaleb); great-great-grandchildren, Dallas Weaver, Reid Weaver, Kholten James, Livy Kate Hester, and Rowan Hatfield; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tina Sullivan, Eva Beachum, and Tracy Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas W. Pate; parents, Earl and Carrie Patterson; daughter, Judy Warren; daughter-in-law, Linda Pate; grandchildren, Brandon Nanney and Chris Hester; and her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Pegues Tupelo.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Pate will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Phillip Carr and Bro. Jeff Adams officiating. A graveside service will follow at New Chapel Cemetery in Evergreen.
Pallbearers will be Eric James, Scott Pate, Blake Hester, Brady Hester, Justin Hester, Cody Pate, Keith Pate, and Braxton Pate, Dustin Burnett, Channing Nanney, Peyton Nanney, Austin Fay, Blake Koenigsberger, and Brandon Goff.
The honorary pallbearer will be her special little buddy, Brooks Nanney.
