FRANCES G. WILLIAMS

Tupelo - Frances Green Williams, 85, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Born January 4, 1921 in Monroe County, she was raised in Nettleton, the daughter of the late Hollis Clopton and Mary S. Green. She was the widow of Russell Williams who preceded her in death February 4, 1969. She was the former office manager for Tombigbee Valley Electric Supply Company for 25 years. An active member of First Christian Church of Tupelo, she served as the first women Elder in the church and was the Sunday School Teacher of the Fidelis Class for many years. She deeply loved her son and family, friends, church, and home.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Ray Morton and Rev. Eldridge E. Fleming officiating. A private graveside will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include one son, J. David Williams of Tupelo and his special friend, Judy Griffie of Tupelo; one brother, James Hollis Green of Tupelo; two sisters, Fay Smith and her husband, Allen of Tupelo, and Mary Keegan and her husband, Jim of Memphis; her nephews, Green Smith of Plantersville, and James Keegan, Jr. of Memphis; her nieces, Kay Smith Jerome of Pickens, and Dr. Leigh Keegan Jones of Memphis; 7 grand nieces and nephews; one very special and loving caregiver, Shirley Williams of Tupelo.

Pallbearers will be Bob Lehman, Billy Breland, Ed Ford, Basil Hinds, Butch Lyle, Jess Clift, and Dr. Bill Wood.

Visitation will continue from 11:30 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
