Evelyn Wright

Evelyn Wright Tupelo- Evelyn Margret Philpot Wright 93, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born August 28, 1923, in the frog Island Community of Lee County to Dabner Clark and Edith Odelle Herring Philpot. She lived in Lee County most of her life. She worked in the medical field for Dr. Jack Stacey until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Plantersville First Baptist Church, where she was very active and loved singing in the choir. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Balint officiating. A private family burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bonita Wright; two grandchildren, Justin Barton Wright (Stephanie), Rachel Wright Spindle (Joseph); Four great grandchildren, Laynie Burnell, Isbella Wright, Marley and Brynn Spindle; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Windham Floyd Wright Sr.; one brother, Edgar Philpot Sr. and one son, Windham Floyd Wright Jr. Memorials in her memory may be made to Plantersville Baptist Church 284 Old Planters Rd, Plantersville, MS 38862 Visitation will from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday.
