EVELYN BAKER

Fulton - EVELYN A. BAKER, 92, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an lengthy illness. A Grenada native, she was born June 15, 1914 to the late Arthur A. and Elena Wilson Wiggins. She was a nurses aid and had worked several years with a nursing home in Greenwood and retired from Cedars Health Center in Tupelo. She enjoyed qiulting and various needlecraft and she also enjoyed working in the yard. She was a member of East Heights Baptist Church. She was married to Ira Baker who preceded her in death September 23, 1965.

A stateroom service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo with Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Aileen Gilmore of Shannon, and Clara Lawson of Tupelo; one son, Billy Baker of Saltillo; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Johnny Baker; six sisters, and 1 brother.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Gilmore, Randall Clark, Donnie Gilmore, Jr., and Christopher Gilmore.
