Marietta – Don Troy McIntyre, 62, of Marietta, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2026, while on the road in West Point, Mississippi.

Born December 12, 1963, in Bremerton, Washington, Don was the son of Ward Morrison and Donna Morrison, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Knighton.

Although Don was born in Washington, he spent most of his life in California's Central Valley, where he built a life, raised his children, and formed many of the friendships he would carry with him throughout his lifetime.

Don lived his life with a heart of gold, a humble spirit, and a deep sense of gratitude. He had a remarkable ability to make the best of whatever life placed before him. Patient by nature, he was a teacher to those he loved - not only in the things he knew how to build or fix, but in the wisdom and sound advice he generously shared. He valued the simple things in life: good music, good food, time with family, a meaningful conversation, and the friendships he collected along the way.

Don and his first wife, Sandra McIntyre Indech, raised their two children, Shannon Dean and Johnathan McIntyre, in the Hanford area. Though their lives eventually took different paths, Don and Sandra remained close friends and devoted parents and grandparents throughout his life - a testament to the enduring bond they shared through their children and family.

Don was an immensely proud father to Shannon and Johnathan, and becoming a grandfather brought him tremendous joy. His daughter Shannon gave him three grandsons: Dannen Wyatt, his first grandchild, followed by Corben Wyatt and Owen Dean. His son Johnathan gave him three granddaughters: Taylor McIntyre, Peyton McIntyre, and Rylee McIntyre. Don adored all of his grandchildren and took tremendous pride in each of them.

Don and Johnathan shared a particularly special bond that could never be lost. They loved building vehicles together, especially Don's beloved 1974 Dodge Power Wagon. Some of their most treasured moments, however, were found simply in conversation. While Don was out on his many adventures on the road, father and son shared long talks, stories, laughter, and the kind of sound advice that only a father can give his son.

For the last 16 years of his life, Don shared his life with his loving partner, Pamela Kopenhefer. Through their life together, Don's family grew to include two additional daughters, a son, and nine grandchildren, all of whom became part of the family he treasured.

During their final four years together, Don and Pamela were able to realize one of his greatest dreams: making their home on a peaceful and beautiful ten-acre piece of land in Marietta, Mississippi. Don lovingly called it their "paradise" - a place where he could enjoy the peace, beauty, and life he had worked so hard to build.

That hard work was a defining part of Don's life. He was proud of his career as a long-haul truck driver, beginning his career with CFI and finishing it with Bud Coley Trucking Company. Over countless miles and years on the road, Don earned several professional honors, including his treasured Million Mile Ring - an accomplishment of which he was especially proud.

Many of those miles were traveled with his loyal and beloved dogs, Cooter and Dozer, faithfully by his side. They spent countless hours as his companions on the road, sharing in the long drives and adventures that made up so much of Don's life.

Along those roads, Don experienced adventures, met people from all walks of life, and formed

friendships that he carried with him through the years. He was genuinely grateful for the friends he made along life's journey and for the people who remained part of his story.

For all the miles Don traveled, family was always home.

He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a devoted partner, a loyal friend, a patient teacher, and a hardworking, humble man who appreciated what he had. His legacy lives not only in the family he leaves behind, but in the lessons he taught, the vehicles built beside him, the conversations held across countless miles, the music and meals shared together, and the memories created by simply spending time with the people he loved.

Don's life was measured in far more than miles. It was measured in the people he loved, the friendships he kept, the family he was so proud of, and the gratitude with which he traveled through life.

He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever carried in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
