Ray Christian

Tupelo – Ray Christian, 89, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born on Saturday, July 3, 1937, to Dexter and Maddie Christian, in Tupelo.

Ray proudly served his country as a member of the Mississippi National Guard, a chapter of his life that reflected the steady, dependable person he always was. He shared 62 wonderful years with his wife, Jane, before her passing in 2020. In his younger years, Ray found great joy in the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing whenever he could. But, Ray took the greatest pride in being a granddaddy, loving his grandchildren more than anything.

Ray is survived by his sons, Scotty Christian and his wife, Lynn, and Randy Christian; grandchildren, Connie Rogers, Leslie Christian, Adam Mattera, Britney Yarbrough, Brandi Presley, Morgan Barnes, Andrea Beam, Jacob Christian, Haley Warren, and Ty Steele; and sisters, Rachel Maxwell and Faye Bell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Christian; son, Andy Christian; brother, Harold Christian; sister, Sue Sudduth; and parents, Dexter and Maddie Christian.

There will be a private family service forthcoming. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Ray’s arrangements.
