David May – Saltillo
David Laroy May passed from this world into his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 81. He left his family with a legacy of honesty, dedication, determination, and most importantly, love.
David was born September 14, 1942, in Pontotoc, MS to the late Dow Laroy May and Myrl Bramlett May. He worked diligently to establish David May Construction Company, Inc. Throughout his career, he developed many subdivisions throughout the Guntown and Saltillo area. Not only did he build beautiful homes, but he also used his gift of carpentry to create cherished gifts for loved ones and charities. His love for his family was evident, in his words, but most of all his actions.
David is survived by one son, Jeff May of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Meghan Luttrell (Trae) of Randolph, Olivia Bennett (Chris) of Tupelo, and Loghan May Of Austin, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Sawyer Luttrell, Amelia Luttrell, Savanna Luttrell, Georgia Bennett, Bailey Bennett, Winnie Bennett, and Jameson Bennett; two brothers, Roger May (Laura) of Saltillo, and Tim May (Pam) of Saltillo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
David has been reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Carol Jane May, to whom he was married for 54 years; along with his parents Dow and Myrl May; and six brothers, James May, Fred May, Mike May, Gary May, Tom May, Jerry (Jake) May; and one sister, Teresa May.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until service time Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring his life will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Green and Bro. David Kerch officiating.
