Tupelo- In the early morning hours of September 12, 2025, after a brief stay at Sanctuary Hospice House, Dale Young Holloway peacefully went to be with Jesus.
Born in Pontotoc in 1935, Dale married the love of his life, Bobbie Washington, in 1959. They had two beautiful daughters, Debbie and Barbara.
Dale Holloway set the standard of love, compassion, and a servant’s heart in all areas of life. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was steadfast, patient, unconditional, and kind. As a neighbor, he was always willing to help, to serve, to be inconveniences for the sake of another. As a Marine, Policeman, Mailman, Repairman, or the volunteer bus driver at CASA, he took on every job with the heart posture of service to the community and its’ people providing them with the best care, compassion, and kindness that every town should pray for. All of this being rooted in his love for Christ as his actions from the moment his feet hit the floor were an outpouring of that amazing love we all received from Dale.
He has left some large shoes to fill, but may we all wake up every morning after today and ask God the same request he did each day of his life: “Please give me someone to help today.”
To be loved by him was a blessing to you, and to be helped by him was a gift and a joy to him.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Whitfield and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Ashley Pulse, Zack Pulse, Mandi Skinner and her husband, John, Kyle Mills, and Madison Mills and her husband, Josh; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Callie Mills, Tripp, Lincoln, Lilly, Brayden, and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Washington; daughter, Debbie Holloway; grandson, Joshua Dale Mills; father, Addison Holloway; mother, Jessie Holloway; sister, Gladys Herndon; and brothers, Talmadge Holloway, Bobby Glen Holloway, and John Holloway.
