Clyde E. Bennett
Madison, Ala- Clyde E. Bennett, a righteous man, in Christ, his church and the church of Christ died Friday, December 30, 2016. He was a faithful husband and a loving dad. He played basketball while in school at Kirkville under coach Barnes. Clyde was a United States Army World War II veteran and served as cook. He worked for the Huntsville roofing company in Huntsville, Alabama as a hardware salesman for 24 years before retiring in 1986. In his free time Clyde enjoyed gardening and collecting various collectibles.
He is survived by one son, Danny of Madison, Alabama; one brother Lee (Mildred) of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister Nellie (Neal) of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred of 68 years; parents, Willie and Mildred Bennett; two sisters, Avinell Savage (Tupelo) and Surue McCoy (Baldwyn) .
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Old Union Cemetery, south of Verona with Danny Bennett officiating. Pegues Funeral home will be in charge of the Arrangements.
