Listen to Obituary

Fresno, California—Christopher Thomas Holcomb passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026 at his home in Fresno, California where he resided the past three years. Formerly of Lee County, Christopher was born in Tupelo on December 30, 1976, the son of William Holcomb and Sherry Carter. He grew up loving the outdoors and spending as much of his free time as he could on the golf course or fishing and hunting. He was an avid fan of Auburn University Tigers (War Eagle!) especially on days when they were winning! However, his greatest joy came from his beloved family who he adored.

Christopher leaves behind his mom, Sherry Carter of Mantachie; four children, CJ Holcomb of Guntown, Bailey Holcomb Rayfield (Will) of Saltillo, Hunter Holcomb of California, and Luna Vang of California; grandchildren, Ethan, Wesley, Dalton, and another beloved grandchild on the way; three sisters, Amanda Rost (Devin) of Tupelo, Jessica McCullough (Jason Gordon) of Tupelo, and Summer Thornton (Kevin) of Tremont; nephews, Preston Sawyer, Brayden McCullough, and Tag Hart; and a niece, Charlie Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Holcomb and his step-mother, Vickie Holcomb.

The family will honor Christopher’s memory with a memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers will be CJ Holcomb, Preston Sawyer, Brayden McCullough, and Shane Holcomb.

Expressions of sympathy and fond memories may be shared on Christopher’s tribute page.
