Charles Lindley
Talley

Graveside Service
Tupelo – Charles Lindley Talley passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at North Mississippi Medical Center on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Born on March 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Amos Marshall Talley and Rada Lindley Talley.
He was a member of Tupelo First United Methodist Church and proudly served in the Mississippi National Guard. During his service, he was activated under President John F. Kennedy during the Civil Rights era and was sent to University of Mississippi.
Charles found joy in the simple things that connected him to the world around him. He enjoyed fishing, tending his garden, and spending time outdoors whenever he could. He dedicated twenty years of service to the Tupelo Fire Department before retiring in 1987.
Above all, he treasured his family, and the depth of his love will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harris Talley; two children, Lynn Tidwell (Chuck), and Tim Talley (Mandy); four grandchildren, Chad Tidwell, Clark Tidwell, Skylar Borges (Peter), and Coleman Talley; and one brother, Jess “Bud” Talley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Evelyn Bryan.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, March 27, 2026, at Lee Memorial Park.
A graveside service honoring Mr. Charles will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Lee Memorial Park with Rev. Rusty Keen officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors have been entrusted with the care of his arrangements.
