Carlene Spearman

Pontotoc – Carlene Spearman, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, October 31, 1942, to Bruce Williams and Hazel Williams.

Carlene was an independent, outspoken woman who was a beloved member of the Zion Baptist Church and never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. She loved to travel and enjoyed everything from trips to the mountains to leisurely Sunday drives. Traveling to the Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove were some of her favorite places to go. Carlene had a deep love for country music and loved watching country music videos every Saturday. She was avidly devoted to Ole Miss, always cheering on the Rebels and watching football. Above all, she was a woman who lived life in her own way.

Carlene is survived by her children, Carla Spearman and Brian Spearman; siblings, Linda Bell and Steve Williams; seven grandchildren, Peyton Dunlap, Arden Wise, Isaac Spearman, Jake Spearman, Skylar Spearman, Mason McCarver, and Alex McCarver; and four great-grandchildren, Lars Dunlap, Lucas Dunlap, Lincoln Spearman, and Adam Spearman.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Neal E. Spearman; parents, Bruce and Hazel Williams; son, Eddie Spearman; and brothers, John Carl Williams and Bobby Williams.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

A funeral service for Carlene will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Matt Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.
