Brian Douglas Edger

Tupelo- Brian Douglas Edger, age 68, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1957, to Lauren Merwin Edger and Gladys Elaine Bennett Edger.

Brian was born and raised in Hastings, Michigan, the youngest of five siblings. He married his high school sweetheart, Merri, at the age of 19. They had three children before moving the family to Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1989. Brian had a successful career with Hunter Douglas, retiring in 2007.

Brian enjoyed basketball as a young man and golf in his later years. He articulated his feelings by composing dozens of short poems for his wife and family. His greatest and most cherished accomplishment was the family he raised. His children never lacked a great example or words of advice. His grandchildren were the pride of his later years, and all that met him called him a friend.

Brian knew Jesus as his personal Savior and walked through many trials armed only with faith and prayer.

At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by the loving tribe of his making. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him, and remembered always as a great man whose value was immeasurable.

He is survived by his wife, Merri Lu Edger; children, Tara Edger, Laura Johnson (Todd), and Isaiah Edger, Sr.; grandchildren, Boston Hampton (Noa), Weston Hampton, Katelyn Edger, Calynn Estes, Grant Edger, Addyson Hampton, Toddrick Johnson, Autumn Edger, Isaiah Edger, Jr., and Sophia Redden; great-grandchild, Hudson Hampton; three brothers, Rick Edger, Bruce Edger, and Steve Edger; sister, Kay Rowley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauren and Gladys Edger.
