Brenda Kay Spier Hardin, 85, of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at the Griffis House in Tupelo.

Brenda was born on April 4, 1940, in Helena, Arkansas, to Tandy Earl Spier and Catherine Sharpe Spier. She later moved to Greenwood, Mississippi, where she graduated from Greenwood High School and met her husband to be Jim Hardin. They were married for 44 years before his passing in 2006. They raised three children, Alison, Russ and Leslie in the Tupelo area.

Brenda was a graduate of the Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW) in Columbus, Mississippi.

She taught preschool at Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo for many years and also served as a kindergarten teacher at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. She positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children during her time teaching. She was a longtime member of Hope Church in Tupelo.

Brenda had many friends and was known for her outgoing personality and infectious laughter. She was a student of the Holy Bible and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed seeing new places and was able to visit Switzerland, Italy and Israel with her family members.

Brenda is survived by her daughters Alison Hardin Wildmon of Tupelo and Leslie Hardin Banks of Grenada, Mississippi. Also her son-in-law Tim Wildmon of Tupelo and daughter- in -law Renee Davis(Mac ) of Guntown. Also survived by her grandchildren Wriley Freeman (Wil), Wesley Wildmon (Chelsea), Walker Wildmon (Lexie) all of Tupelo as well as Jacob Banks, Taylor Banks (Haley)and Morgan Banks, all of Grenada. Brenda is survived by eleven great grandchildren .

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Hardin, her son Russ Hardin and her son-in-law Wes Banks.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Banks, Taylor Banks, Wil Freeman, Tim Wildmon, Walker Wildmon and Wesley Wildmon

Visitation will be 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo . The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. with Brother Ed Vitagliano and Tim Wildmon officiating.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Barbara Windham and My Helpers United for all their loving care for Brenda over the last three years. Also thanks to the staff at the Mitchell Center and the Griffis House for their help and assistance in caring for Brenda.
