Brenda B. Clark

Tupelo- Brenda B. Clark, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was born on September 19, 1947, to Presley Brown and Linteen Kelly Brown, and she lived a life marked by devotion, creativity, and quiet strength.

Brenda spent many years working as a dispatcher for BellSouth, where she was known for her reliability and dedication, before retiring after a long and faithful career. She was a devoted member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church, where her faith guided her daily life and shaped the kindness she showed to others.

Outside of work, Brenda was full of color and character. She was well known at local auctions as a merchandise reseller, affectionately nicknamed the “Bag Lady” for her beloved grab bags, which many looked forward to with a smile. No matter the circumstances, Brenda maintained a positive outlook and an encouraging spirit that lifted those around her.

She had a deep love for the simple joys of life. Flowers brought her happiness, purple was her favorite color, and she found peace working in her yard. Brenda took pride in raising a garden and especially loved canning the fruits of her labor, making jellies, pickles, and more to share with family and friends. Her home reflected her care and patience, much like her heart.

On June 3, 1965, Brenda married the love of her life, Alton Lee Clark, lovingly known as “Jackie,” and together they built a life rooted in commitment and companionship. She also had a deeply nurturing, motherly love for animals, especially dogs, and was rarely without one by her side. Her bond with her pets was a reflection of her gentle and compassionate nature.

Brenda will be remembered for her warmth, her resilience, her unwavering positivity, and the quiet ways she made the world around her more beautiful. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Jackie Clark and his wife, Pam, of tupelo; sister, Angie Ward Stennett of Tupelo; brothers, Robert Brown and his wife, Renita, of Booneville and Roy Brown, Sr. of Amory; nephews, Bobby Brown and his wife, Tracy, of Blue Springs and Roy Lee Brown, Jr. of Amory; many great-nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Kathy Sheffield of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Clark; and parents, Presley and Linteen Brown.

A graveside service in honor of Mrs. Brenda will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Locust Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Holland officiating. Due to weather, the graveside service will be held inside the church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her home care nurse, Nathan Plunk.
