BILLY CONAWAY
Tupelo - Billy Gene Conaway, 70, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1946, to Roy and Lois Robison Conaway. He was raised in the Mt. Vernon area on the farm and he loved riding on the tractor. Billy served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam Conflict. He worked in furniture manufacturing all of his working life, previously at Bluebell and Bassett and retired from Leggit Plat. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and mowing. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Reynolds (Scotty) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Richard Reynolds, Patricia Ramer and Bradley Reynolds all of Tupelo; great-grandchildren, Haley Reynolds and Erica Ramer; brothers, Gerald Conaway (Betty) and Richard Conaway both of Tupelo; sisters, Nannie Barnes of Winfield, Alabama and Mitzi Austin (Keith) of Benson, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Elmer, Lester and James Conaway and sisters, Myrtice Henry and Doris Patterson.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Guyton Hinds officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Barnes, Stevie Barnes, Scotty Reynolds, Eric Page, Jonathan Barnes and Alexzander Barnes.
