Pontotoc – Beverly Vada Bowman, 89, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born in New York on Friday, April 30, 1937, to Louis Wagner and Florence Koutrick.

Beverly spent lots of time working on family farms in Georgia and Florida, where she embraced the country life and discovered a lifelong love of caring for animals. She later worked as a bookkeeper with North American Van Line Moving Company before dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker.

Beverly will be remembered for her determined spirit and outgoing personality. She found her greatest joy with Paso Fino horses, devoting years to raising, breeding, and showing them while actively participating in the Paso Fino Horse Association. The horse community became an important part of her life, bringing together her love of animals and competitive spirit. Those who knew Beverly will remember a woman who poured her heart into the things she cared about, especially her horses, and whose determination left a lasting impression on family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her children, Rick Bowman of Pontotoc, and Valerie Watkins of Decatur, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Mst. Sgt. Jerald Jeffers of Asheboro, NC.

Pegues Funeral Directors have been entrusted with the care of her arrangements.
