Becky Carlton
Plantersville- Rebecca Sue Carlton, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 25, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on July 16, 1946, to George Gillentine and Louise Deason Gillentine, Becky’s life was marked by a deep commitment to others and a selfless heart. A proud Registered Nurse for 30 years with North Mississippi Medical Center, she touched countless lives with her compassionate care. After retiring, Becky continued her service to the community as a dedicated volunteer for over 11 years, accumulating more than 2,000 hours of service. She was especially passionate about her involvement with the Mended Hearts group, providing comfort and support to those in need. Her servant’s heart and unwavering dedication to others were an inspiration.
Becky was an active member of North Star Church, where she cherished her time in small group fellowship. Above all, she was a loving wife to the late Terry Carlton, and her family and friends will forever remember her as a kind, nurturing, and steadfast presence in their lives. Becky’s legacy of service and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Becky is survived by her two nieces, Sherry Macon and her husband, Will, and Brenda Gilbert and her husband, Allan; four great- nephews, Chip Riner, Dalton Riner and his wife, Brittany, Hunter Gilbert, and Jacob Gilbert; two great-great nieces, Alayna Riner and Charlie Riner; four great-great nephews, Keegan Riner, Austin Riner, Davis Riner, and Ryland Riner; and brother-in-law, Charles Kelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Sharon Kelly; and great-nephew, Austin Riley.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Andrew Ledbetter officiating. Graveside will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chip Riner, Dalton Riner, Austin Riner, Hunter Gilbert, Jacob Gilbert, and Will Macon. Keegan Riner will serve as honorary pallbearer.
