Lake Bluff, Illinois – Barbara Sue Tuner, 83, a beloved resident of Lake Bluff, Illinois and formerly of Germantown, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, after a long illness.
Born in 1942, to Dorothy L Wheeler and Earl C Brown, Barbara spent the last seven years of her life close to her son and his wife and family in Lake Bluff, IL. During her marriage to her husband, Harold Turner, they made their home in Germantown, TN. Barbara was a cherished member of the Germantown community for 48 years. Following her husbands passing in 2018, she relocated to Lake Bluff, IL in order to be closer to her son.
Barbara attended classes at Memphis State, and in 1968 Barbara married Harold D Turner at Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis. She found joy in lakeside gatherings with friends and family and had a passion for travel. Barbara was a dedicated member of Collierville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Justin D Turner and his wife, Jennifer, of Lake Bluff, IL; her two cherished grandsons, Aiden and Finn Turner of Lake Bluff, IL; her brother, Bill Brown and his wife, Suzi Brown, of Millington, TN; and her niece, Blake Brown of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D Turner; her parents; and one daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Turner.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. until service time Monday, August 11, 2025 at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring Barbara’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Saltillo Chapel with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Graveside services will follow at Saltillo Cemetery.
