Guntown - Barbara Lynn Griffin Sudduth, 84, peacefully passed into eternal life on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the home she shared with her daughter, surrounded by many of her loved ones. She was born on November 15, 1941, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Rubel Griffin and Wilma Lynn Senter. She was an only child.

At an early age, she married Bobby “Freck” Sudduth. Until his passing in 1978, they shared a life together and had two children, Terry and Jenny. Together, they owned Jenny’s Exxon, which Barbara continued to manage for many years after his passing, eventually closing its doors after almost 50 years of operation. She took great pride in her store, where she worked the evening shift seven days a week. Through the years, she formed many lifelong friendships with her loyal customers.

Barbara possessed a strong will, true independence, and a no-nonsense feistiness. The harder of a time she gave you or the more she picked on you, the more it usually meant she liked you. She took seriously the unofficial titles of “the Sunday beer store” and “having the coldest beer in town.”

She was a lover of all animals, especially her dogs, whom she spoiled dearly and gave very distinctive names. She enjoyed watching her son and grandsons rope, watching Lifetime and scary movies, tuning in to Family Feud with Steve Harvey, feeding her dogs, eating ice cream cones and other sweets, drinking Diet Coke, smoking cigarettes, listening to music, and dancing.

Over the past seven years, following her disability, her beloved daughter Jenny became her full-time caregiver, with assistance from her beloved granddaughters and grandson.

Ms. Barbara, as she was known to many, leaves behind one son, Terry Sudduth (Silvia); one daughter, Jenny Sudduth Murry (Jamie Franks); seven grandchildren, Justin Curry (Tabitha), Cortney Wallace (Andy McCarley), Erica Williams (Jake), Mandie Thompson Johnson (Eric), Jessika Sudduth, Chris Sudduth (Jackie), and Dustin Sudduth; 17 great-grandchildren, Kobi Curry (Skyler), Kyler Hitt (Ethan), Kacyn Curry (fiancé Hunter), Kellum Curry, Kemp Curry, Ryder Wallace, Beau Williams, Tyler Colburn, CJ Davis (Sarah), Carly Sudduth Foster, Madie Browning (Nelson), Kylee Whitt, Kallin Sudduth, Makayla Scroggins (Connor), Mallory Sudduth, Dakota Thompson, and Hunter Sullivan; seven great-great-grandchildren; many special family friends; and a beloved dog, Whiskey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubel and Wilma Griffin; her beloved grandson, Michael Sudduth; daughter-in-law, Malinda Sudduth; and grandson-in-law, Jon Wallace.

She will be greatly missed on this side of Heaven.
